Today lifestyles and habits practiced by the youths play a significant role when they enter adult lives. In addition to this, the lifestyle choices which they cultivate now, will be adopted and practiced when they become adults. Water

Most Americans are semi dehydrated and don’t even know it. It is pretty well known that you are supposed to drink approximately 8 glasses of water per day. Citrus fruit

Lemons, grapefruit, oranges and limes are packed with delicious nutrients and also hydrate the body. You can do the body a lot of good starting your day with fresh lemon juice in warm water.

Green foods

Such as all forms of lettuce, cabbage, watercress, spinach, broccoli and sprouts. Their anti-oxidant properties, mineral content and chlorophyll, all work their magic on the body.

Colorful fruits and vegetables

We want to eat lots of these. The nutrient value is unmatched. We also get a lot of fiber from eating fruits and vegetables and that keeps our digestive system working properly.

Summer Salad with Citrus Vinaigrette

In a salad bowl combine, lettuce of your choice, spinach leaves, watercress, chives, mandarin orange slices and sesame seeds.

To make the vinaigrette, combine ½ cup fresh orange juice, the juice of 1 fresh lemon, the rind of the orange and lemon,1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp Dijon mustard, 1 tbsp honey and pepper to taste. Mix well and pour over salad.

Keep in mind that we want to reduce the amount of chemicals and pesticides etc., so choose organic foods and spices. It is well worth it in the long run for your health and well being.

If you are serious about detoxing and cleansing the body, then eat right, drink a lot of fluids and get some regular exercise. Our bodies were designed this way.
